Service product design lead from 2017
Bixby home service platform design
Bixby home accepts 87 different types of contextual contents. It provides a design system to express many global partners as well as samsung. It was launched as a main event in 2017 from the Galaxy S8 Unpack. In 2018, it was renewed with platform design offers sdk and web portal service.
Bixby Home Service is located on -1 page of samsung galaxy. Various context cards are displayed by swipe action on the left side of the home screen. We have set up a design system to accommodate our company and various partners.
Each content card has an elaborate layout to express the media type by dividing it into Title, Body and Bottom. Commonly, the call to action button is displayed in the lower right hand corner of each card. This allows the most intuitive and important action of each service to be exposed. Color and text can be controlled to represent each brand.
Our design system is basically encouraging us to express single content. But partners want to expose more content business-wise. This is a common conflict of interest between consumers and content providers. We provided a button to further expand the area to solve this.
So here's a sample of the music service. These layouts were provided to global music service partners. Partners can use our web portal to understand the design system, collaborate with us and develop it easily. Only through these efforts did we get to have a platform.
Design guidance for SDK and web portal
Service portal for partners. download the corresponding SDK, and create partner’s unique card. Partners can use our web portal to understand the design system, collaborate with us and develop it easily. Only through these efforts did we get to have a platform.
I played a leading role in providing this design system as a GUI lead for our team. To do this perfectly, I grew gradually over two years and built a design system from 0 to 100% using prototyping tools such as sektch. And it communicated and provided resources with the development team so that it could be mass-produced.
